Who we are

WeTales is a platform for telling and preserving life stories — your own, or that of someone close to you. You gather photos, videos, voice recordings, and written memories; invite others to contribute; and shape them into a story video and a lasting story page.

Your content

You retain all rights to the photos, videos, audio, and written memories you upload. By uploading, you grant WeTales a limited license to use that content for the purpose of producing your story — assembling videos, building story pages, and sharing with the audience your privacy settings allow. We do not use your content for advertising, model training, or any purpose beyond the story itself.

Music

You choose the music for your story video by uploading it. You need the right to use that music in a video — and buying a song, whether on CD, as a download, or through a streaming subscription, does not give you that right. Putting a recording into a video needs a synchronisation licence, which is separate from owning a copy of it.

Music you or your family recorded, music you hold the rights to, and music licensed for use in video are all fine. If you aren’t sure, don’t upload the track.

Acceptable use

Don’t upload content you don’t have permission to share, content that infringes someone else’s rights, or content unrelated to the story. The story’s creator can remove uploads that don’t fit. We may suspend access for repeated misuse.

Service availability

We aim for high availability but make no guarantee of uninterrupted service. We’ll give reasonable notice of planned maintenance and do our best to minimise disruption.

Changes

These terms may be updated. Material changes will be communicated by email to the contact email on file.
